Frequently Asked Questions

What level of playing do I need to be at to sign up for courses at GA?

Most courses at GA are aimed towards the intermediate player. Master Classes are for intermediate/advanced players. Although a program will be offered for beginners in the near future, at present all players wanting to enroll need to be somewhat familiar with basic scales and chords. If you are unsure about your abilities, please contact us at 604.537.0653 for an assessment.

Can I sign up for Fingerstyle II without having first done Fingerstyle I?

No – Fingerstyle I is a requirement for the follow-up class. The same goes for Technique I and II and any other courses structured in multiple levels.

Can I sign up for more than one course at a time?

Yes, you can sign up for as many courses as you wish. However, unless you have a lot of time to burn, we recommend no more than three, as the material presented in each course is plenty and requires time to digest. If you’re signing up for one of the Master Classes we suggest that you make that course the only one.

What happens if I miss a class?

You will receive all written materials from the instructor. Any additional material can be downloaded from our web site. If the class was videotaped, a copy will be made available to you.

Can I take private lessons from any of the GA instructors?

Yes, private lessons are being booked, depending on availability.

What happens if I need to drop out? Do I get my money back?

It depends when it happens. Our Refund Policy states how much money is refunded at what time. Please read our policy before registering.

Where are classes being held?

Classes are held in various recording studios in the lower mainland. Once a class has been confirmed and enrolment confirmed, the most central location will be chosen based on the addresses of registrants.
